X-quisit

Blending in comfortably with the makeup of Xintiandi, this upmarket boutique, hailing from Hong Kong, is sure to meet the tastes of the tai tais and tourists searching for a pricey Chinese momento. Flaunting a distinctly Chinese flavor, X-quisit offers an abundance of jade and Chinese embroidery along with silk cushions, bed throws, scarves, stationery and other brocaded feminine accessories, all packed in its intimate space. There’s also an uninspiring collection of jewelry ranging from colorful beaded necklaces and traditional jade pendants to more valuable, gaudy-looking pieces enclosed within glass cabinets. While there’s nothing particularly ‘exquisite’ here that distinguishes it from other outlets at Xintiandi, we liked the brocade organizers (¥290) and the scented candles in glass containers painted with artistic designs.
