Jeremy Stockton Johnson Couture Photo Exhibition
The first of a new monthly event series from Cocktail Couture, celebrating art and fashion. Xintiandi’s swanky Pavillon Costes hosts, with an exhibition of photographs by Jeremy Stockton Johnson. Qiu Jie
Shanghai-born Qiu was a political propaganda artist before he moved to Switzerland in the 80s. His skills stayed with him, and he uses them to inform his work today. Starts Feb 5th. This group show is an opportunity to catch the work of up-and-coming Chinese artists Liu Ye, Liu Lei and Du Haijun. Liu Ye is an abstract figure painter, while Liu Lei is a printmaker. Japanese painter and lithograph artist Toko Shinoda’s work is attractive and highly collectible. Glass Metropolis

Shanghai Propaganda Landscapes
One of Shanghai’s coolest museums, the Propaganda Art Center, is celebrating its recent expansion with a New Year exhibition. Zhang Dali
After finishing his studies in China, artist Zhang Dali went to Italy and discovered not the work of the Great Masters, but the humble art of graffiti. He brought street art to Beijing in the early ‘90s, and is the only artist except Jackson Pollock and Keith Haring to have graced the cover of Time magazine.
